QR code traceability for food brands

Your label says single-origin, small-batch or organic. A QR code on the pack lets the buyer check it: the code opens that batch's page with the farm, every processing step and the lab report, recorded by the people who handled it. There is no app to install, and you can start free.

The questions your buyers ask

  • Is it really from where the label says?

Origin is easy to print and hard to check. A trace page names the farm or supplier for that exact batch.

  • Was this batch the one that was tested?

A lab report attached to the batch it covers is evidence. The same PDF on your website is a promise.

  • Why pay more for yours?

A premium needs a reason the buyer can see. Showing the record beats another adjective on the pack.

What you record

  1. 1

    Record the source

The farm, estate or supplier, the place, and the harvest or purchase date and quantity.

  2. 2

    Add each processing step

Cleaning, drying, roasting, grinding, packing: who did it, when, and how much went in and came out.

  3. 3

    Attach the evidence

Lab reports, certificates and photos, attached to the batch they belong to.

  4. 4

    Print the batch QR

Put it on the pack or a sticker. Customer scans are unlimited and never use credits.

What your buyer sees

  • The farm or supplier and where it is
  • Each recorded step, in order, with who recorded it
  • The reports and certificates attached to that batch
  • A blockchain fingerprint showing the record has not been edited since
  • On Growth and Pro plans, a Buy Again link to your store

What IndiTrace does not do. IndiTrace doesn't test or certify your product. It shows the records and documents you and your suppliers provide, and proves they haven't been changed since they were confirmed.

Questions

Do my customers need an app to scan the QR code?

No. Any phone camera opens the trace page in the browser, with no login.

What does it cost to start?

Nothing. The Free Starter Pack gives three proof credits for 30 days, enough for a first batch, with no card needed. See plans for what comes after.

Do I need a different QR code for every pack?

No. Each batch has one QR code and one trace page, so every pack from that batch carries the same code. A new batch gets a new code.

What if my supplier won't use software?

You can record their details yourself from the paperwork you already receive, and invite suppliers and processors to record their own steps when they are ready.
