Farmer Onboarding
Add the farmers who supply you, with their village, contact details and farm boundary on a map.
Batches are recorded against your farmers, so add them first. A farmer's village and farm location appear on the trace page of every batch they supply; their phone number and email stay private.
Add a farmer
Open Farmers and choose Add Farmer. The form has three parts.
Personal Details
- Full Name (required)
- Farmer Photo (optional)
- Phone Number
- Email Address (optional)
Address
- Village/City: start typing and pick the village from the list
- District, State and Pincode
Farm Location & Size
- Draw the farm boundary on the map: click each corner of the field, then finish the shape. The area in acres is worked out from the boundary.
- Or paste a Google Maps link to the farm, or type its latitude and longitude.
- Farm Size (Acres): filled in from the boundary, or typed in if you don't draw one.
Add anything else under Additional Notes, then choose Save Profile.
Find and edit farmers
The Farmers list shows how many farmers you have, how many are active and their total acreage. Search by name, phone, village or district, and filter by Active or Inactive. Open a farmer to see their profile, farm map and the batches recorded from them, or to edit their details.
Active and inactive farmers
A farmer is either Active or Inactive. New batches can only be recorded from active farmers. Making a farmer inactive keeps all their past batches and trace pages as they are.
Export
You can download active farmers as a CSV file from Reports.
Good practice
- Record the village as the farmer says it, and check the pin on the map.
- Draw the boundary on the field itself, not the farmer's house.
- Ask the farmer before you add their photo.
Next steps
- Create a batch from this farmer.
