How we research, date and correct our guides

The rules behind every guide on the IndiTrace blog: where facts come from, what the dates mean, how AI tools are used, and how to tell us about a mistake.

Last updated .

Who writes the guides

The guides on the IndiTrace blog are written by the IndiTrace team, the people who build and support the product. A guide shows a named author or reviewer only when that person actually wrote or reviewed it; otherwise the byline is “IndiTrace Team”.

We sell traceability software, so we are not a neutral source. Guides mention IndiTrace where it is relevant and link to it. We say what the product does today and what it does not do, and we do not describe it as certifying anything.

How guides are researched

When a guide states a rule, a fee, a deadline or a figure, we link the primary source: the regulator or government scheme page (for example FSSAI, APEDA or the NPOP portal), the law itself, or the vendor's own pricing or product page. We do not quote statistics we cannot trace to a source.

Guides published before October 2026 do not all meet this standard yet. We are adding sources to them as we review them, and each one shows the date it was last updated.

Publish and update dates

Every guide shows the date it was published. When we change a guide materially, such as correcting a fact, a price, a fee or a rule, or rewriting a section, it also shows an “Updated” date, and the page's structured data and sitemap carry the same date. For guides kept in our repository, typo and formatting fixes do not change the date; posts managed in our blog editor show the date of their last saved edit.

Use of AI tools

We use AI writing tools to help research, draft and edit some guides. A person on the team reviews every guide before it is published: checking its facts and figures against the linked sources, removing claims the sources or the product do not support, and editing the text. We do not publish AI-generated text without that review.

Comparisons with other products

Comparison pages are written by us about our own product, and we say so. Facts about other products come from their public pages, which we link, together with the date we checked them. Where a vendor does not publish something, we write that it is not stated rather than guess.

No paid placements

No company pays to be mentioned, linked, reviewed or ranked in our guides, and the guides carry no affiliate links or sponsored content.

Corrections

If you find an error, email contact@inditrace.com with the guide's link and what is wrong, with a source if you have one. We read every report. When a fact is wrong we fix the guide and update its date, and when the correction changes the guide's advice we say so in the guide.
