Generating Labels

Copy a batch's trace link, download its QR code or print a ready-made label from the Share or print label dialog.

Every batch has a QR code. Scanning it opens the batch's public trace page in any phone browser, with no app or login.

Open the dialog

Open the batch and choose Share or print label. The dialog shows the QR code, the batch ID and the public trace link, with four buttons:

  • Copy link: copies the public trace link, to send by WhatsApp or email or put on your website.
  • Download QR: saves the QR code as an image for your own packaging design.
  • Download label: saves a ready-made label as a PNG image.
  • Print label: opens your browser's print window with the label.

To show the batch's record on your own product page, use Embed on your website at the bottom of the same dialog; see Show a batch record on your website.

The label shows the product name and variety, the QR code with "Scan to Trace", the batch ID, the quantity, and the harvest date (or the production date for a processed batch).

Printing tips

  • Print a test label and scan it with a phone before printing many.
  • Keep the QR code at least 2 × 2 cm, and bigger on curved jars or glossy pouches.
  • Use dark ink on a light background and leave a white margin around the code.
  • Choose the paper or sticker size in your printer's settings; the label image scales to fit.

What the QR code opens

The code holds the batch's trace address, for example https://inditrace.com/trace/B68286692756350. It keeps working after your plan ends: existing trace pages stay readable.

Troubleshooting

The QR code won't scan

Print it larger, increase contrast, and avoid printing it across a fold or seam.

The label shows the wrong details

Labels are made from the batch record. If the record is wrong, an admin can discard the batch and record it again before you print.
